Course & elevation
Space Coast is flat and fast, run as an out-and-back along the Indian River Lagoon near the launch pads of the Kennedy Space Center. The course hugs the waterfront with palm-lined views and essentially no elevation change beyond the faintest riverside roll. As Florida’s oldest marathon, it leans hard into its space theme — astronaut characters, rocket-shaped medals, and a celebratory, fast finish.

Key moments
- Mile 1–7Out along the Indian River waterfront — flat and scenic; ease onto goal pace and resist the urge to bank time.
- Mile 13The turnaround on the out-and-back — a mental checkpoint where you can read your effort against the return leg.
- Mile 24–26.2The flat riverfront run-in to the space-themed finish — an even early effort leaves room to close fast.
Pacing strategy
A flat out-and-back that rewards even or slightly negative pacing — use the turnaround at halfway to honestly assess your effort before committing to the return. The lack of terrain means the only thing to manage is the warmth, so keep the early miles controlled and let a disciplined first half set up the finish.

Fueling & hydration
Aid stations roughly every 1.5–2 miles with water and sports drink. The riverside warmth and humidity drive up fluid needs even in November, so drink from the early stations and keep gels on a fixed schedule rather than waiting for a dip.
Weather
Late-November central Florida is usually mild but can be humid (50s–70s), with a warm, muggy morning off the lagoon the main threat to a goal time.
